15.10.2022You do realize that body modiding is such a prevalent Cyberbump core concept that for all we know Rebecca is the older sister to Pilar….. And might have been a 260 pound lumberjack named Kevin. 😎👍

11.10.20227:36 yes, Tyger Claws are one of the biggest gangs in Night City.
12:30 Yess, finally some Gloria appreciation. I was raised by a single-mom too so I apprecaite Gloria so much. I know for a fact how single-moms work so hard and get creative to give their children the best things that they can.
18:25 They are the Maelstrom gang. They are really go for that look because they want to look menacing. And they are addicted to chrome.

08.10.2022I don't get the war between sub vs dub when it comes to reactors. Very rarely do people come to a reactor's channel to rewatch the anime that they like. In most channels, you can barely hear the anime anyway. So all that matters is the reactor enjoying what he or she is watching. And I've watched the Edgerunners in both dub and sub. Both are great truly great with each of them having advantages and disadvantages over the other. Point is, we're here to watch the reactor. All that's important is he/she appreciates (or not) the show.

07.10.2022A lot of the songs in Cyberpunk 2077 are in different languages. Some are Slavics, some are Latin languages like spanish and some are obviously in English.

07.10.2022Do yourself a favor and watch it in dub when you get a chance. Night City is in California after all.

05.10.2022The funny thing is there isn't a 'sub' or 'dub'. A dub is when you make it in one language and then release a second version dubbed in another, this was released in full with an English and Japanese version, planned from the start. Honestly I think that the English version is better, but that is just my opinion.
Edit: In fact, I think the English version is the definitive one. How do I say that, because look at the text in the show. It's often in English even in the Japanese version.

05.10.2022Yeah some people are cracked lol getting so angry over personal preferences or decisions that don't mirror their own. I personally watched the English dub myself because while generally English sub is better in anime, it really depends on the anime. The reason why English dubbed animes sound bad most of the time is because the animation for mouths usually reflects Japanese dialogue. It's not the fault of the English voice actors since they have to accommodate for the animation by making awkward pauses or stretching of their words. Another big factor is localization. The translation from Japanese to English is rarely ever 100% smooth or accurate. Translated phrases often fail to have the same impact or meaning and sometimes straight up just does not make sense. It's like how in The Witcher series, Geralt calls his horses "roach" in English, but we have no clue why beyond him preferring that name. In the books' native language, it's "plotka", a term for female horses, which does not have a direct translation unless you take the informal version of the word, "ploć", translating to "Roach". I'm not entirely sure if Edgerunners is animated for English or Japanese or just has a crude animation to accommodate for both, so I'll have to take another look, but I imagine since Night City is in English speaking America, the dialogue sounds "better" dubbed. I've listened to both and the only real nitpick is that only the English version accurately depicts slang from the Cyberpunk universe, but it's so miniscule that it only matters if you care for that sort of thing. Either way, hope you enjoyed the anime. Look forward to seeing more!

05.10.2022Left immediately bc of “subs”

05.10.2022Most people vote sub because "anime".
In this case, dub is in fact better and more fitting.

05.10.2022Night citys' default language is english. A lot of slang doesn't translate well into japanese and nuances get lot.

05.10.2022Yes the dub/sub debate gets ridiculous. Haha. There are reasons Edgerunners has this more than others though.
It's not an organic Japanese anime. The show was created with English in mind. All of the cyberpunk slang was made in English and the subs butcher it. The subs also make mistakes that mislead on the lore and world building. Not to mention that unlike most anime, this is actually set in the US. The Cyberpunk world was created by Mike Pondsmith as a reflection of the flaws he saw in the US (basically a dystopia where capitalism has been overtaken by corperatism).
It's odd that subs won your poll since the online concensus seems to lean towards dubs for this particular show. That may be because you have more anime fans than cyberpunk fans taking your poll though. Edgerunners has a huge following of cyberpunk fans that aren't necessarily anime fans. They get frustrated when reactors don't understand the lore due to poor subs.
In the end it's your channel and your decision. You can't please everybody. Haha. When you choose dubs you piss off the die hard anime fans and when you choose subs you piss off everyone else. Just be true to you.

05.10.2022I think the debate between sub, and dub, is because even though it is an anime, it has a very "American" style animation, and in the game the language that predominates is English, and a little Spanish, I Personally, I saw it dubbed into Latin Spanish, and I really loved it, and I'm one of those who watch series and movies in their original language.
But it is a matter of taste and comfort.

05.10.2022I'm just not going to watch if it isn't sub. Voice acting is just objectively better and the setting and slang is American.

05.10.2022For reference
People in holomasks – a gang "scavengers" who specialize in taking people apart for later sale or use( in the second series, the medic was going to sell David to them)
Netrunners' bodies heat up during network entry, so some form of cooling is used to keep from dying from overheating, an ice bath is the cheapest and most common option.
A gang with heavily modified faces – "maelstrom" , radicals seeking to stop being human, do not shuns the methods of scavengers, but more dangerous
Absolute Games
05.10.2022The original script for the anime is in English, probably written by the same people did it for the original game but all the other stuff, animations, screenplays are done by Japanese artists from Trigger. The English dialogue has more unique vocabularies than Japanese one, closer to the game.

05.10.2022don't worry, the dub is overhyped. other than david and faraday it's pretty average. only thing it has going for it is the swearing, accents and in-game slang.

05.10.2022The original script was written in English, and I personally think the English voice acting is better. But I guess some will disagree.
