Hey Choomba! I was planning a sequel to the Edgerunners lore video, as some subscribers wanted info on techies, but concluded it would be better if I just combined the two. If you watched the original video, the first half of this video, after the intro, will have new info. Thank you for your continued support!
been thinking since rewatching the first gameplay demo the end boss of the malestrom gang was in what appeared to be a linear frame (think thats what a exo skeleton/suit is called in cyberpunk 2020) and I'm curious about how common these might be in 2077 and if getting one might be possible
Always enjoy the lore videos Kazuliski. Question dont know if you've ever mentioned it but how is Night Citys government run? Is it a city council or a city council with a mayor?
HEHE BOSH …. the washing machine that everyone had so he was washing all stains from society "he won't hunt people who aren't "asking for it"" with such story it's easy to guess that his interest was only in real criminals and not in someone's wounded pride
I wonder how many of these individuals will be in the gane. As of 2077, most of these people who were young in the 90's, 2000's, 2010's and 2020's would be between 60 to 90 years old.
We saw Rogue, Johnny Silverhand's ex girlfriend, and his old bandmate what's his name. Can only speculate how many others there are.
In the old 2020 tabletop games, the "classes" are defined by their skill package. Each one has ten skills they can spend their profession skill points on and one special skill exclusive to them.
Techies jury-rig. They of course understand the mechanics and hard systems surrounding people in this world but they can also improvise with these tools. Coax out a little additional life from a device or put it to an alternate function. A medtech is a little similar, but you work on wet bodies instead of hard tech. Tech skills were expensive so it forced a little bit of specialisation. Few people master all the tech the world of 2020 has to offer.
Netrunners can netrun. You can plug into the Johnny Mnemonic techno-internet deeper beyond an average user and force the DM to pull out the hacking minigame (which looks a lot like a crossword puzzle). It's a lot about having the best computer deck and bringing the right tools for the job. You can't run all the programs at once, hackers prep a suite of them when they dive. They can create software, use search engines (Google does not exist in the dark future, you go on a BBS) and muck around with computer hardware.
Solos kill people. There's no other way to describe it. You're a professional at making other humans dead. They know how to use lots of different weapons and cyber-karate and what have you. And look mean at people, hide, maintain guns, spot enemies. Their skill was Combat Sense, a skill that added to their initiative and observation. A solo would literally act split-seconds before anyone else could do so. You can dive behind cover, get a gun out and shoot fools while they are still standing there like idiots.

03.07.2022Edgerunners was the henchman sourcebook I think. Bunch of prospective partners the PCs might hire for a job.
Which one of these lads would you pick up as an extra body on a job?
