Cyberpunk 2020 was my first TTRPG, and Edgerunners is an amazing adaptation that really succeeds where 2077 kinda failed⦠I absolutely adore Mike Pondsmithās world!
Iāve no interest in watching this because thereās an American company involved, and if the series gets popular theyāll fill the next season with Woke garbagebecause they just canāt help themselves. They already tried to remove Rebecca before the anime was even released. All the American Devs voted to have her removed because they didnāt want a l0li character, but they were overruled by the Japanese Devs.
the anime brought me back to playing the game and appreciating it more in a weird way? seeing characters from the game and locations that i've been to get recreated almost perfectly was so cool
Cyberpunk 2077 has great storyline and character and CDPR writte storyboard for anime ,character sheets , give 3d map,hud to Trigger who they hired to do animation (Neflix give only money for exclusivity on rheir platform). You shit so badly in title on game that is good its so shalow from your take its look like you never play that game .
Honestly even though cyberpunks release was horrible, there is so much potential for itās world and characters and edgerunners proves that. I hope that the coming dlcs for cyberpunk can help pull it back up and reach the potential we know it can achieve. Even with edgrunners alone a lot of people have returned to the game and I know my interest in it has gone up a lot as well. Honestly a great world and canon that has so much potential.
Jokes aside, this is the first time that I kinda wholly disagree with you as I think CP2077 is an amazing game. Did it have a technical nightmare on launch? Yes. Did the game have broken promises & missing contents? oh yes. Did it frustrated me? Absolutely. Did it made me disappointed as hell? Of course! But what about other things? Story, characters, lore, world building, OST, VA performances, & art design are still 10/10 imo. It's just one of those thing that you love something but you know it's such a frustrating & hard love it more.
I think it is a testament of legitimacy on how great the game actually is when the anime mostly based from the game & the source series. CDPR themselves came up with the anime story, but of course Studio Trigger gave their blood & sweat to molded & created this amazing anime. I do think there are aspects of the lore that are much better represented in the anime medium than the game (or lack thereof).
For example, the cyberpsychosis aspect that I really wished (since its inception) to be featured in the game like some kind of actual limiter system & possibly paths of other endings. I mean the first teaser trailer literally gave the premise of cyberpsychosis & even the OG series Cyberpunk 2020 TTRPG made quite a big deal about cyberpsychosis system as an integral part of the RPG system.
In the end, This amazing anime breathe new life to the franchise & CDPR should be very grateful to Studio Trigger's preem work on the anime. Hopefully, CDPR can dial back on this ride, keep improving the game & release a super nova of an expansion & may actually continue more. I hope it will never fade away choom…
I have not played the game yet. Overall really liked it visuals, animation and story. I don't know what more they can do with this anime, may be take the focus on Lucy, personally i don't think they should continue it because i really liked how the show ended. I hope other game adaptations like the Nier Automata and The Genshin Impact do the same where even if i have not played the game i can still enjoy the story.
I got it because it was on sale one steam after I watched the show. It feels pretty good to play now and it runs pretty well. Iād say its worth trying it.
It was controversial but now i think its starting to redeem itself, for the people who bought it that is. The game has been getting many bug fixes and new features for the past year or two. And with the release of RedMod i think the game could become one of the most modded games of all time, could surpass Skyrim on Nexus, Its already surpassed blade and sorcery on nexus and its only been a few days. I love modding games and i cant wait to see what people can do with the game. Now about edgerunners, i think its a masterpiece. One of the best anime shows that ive watched, animation was incredible, story was decent. Not too complex not too simple. And the music was incredible. I havent watched an anime like this since Devilman Crybaby. I got the same heart crushing feelings that i had when i watched devilman.
as someone whos never played cyberpunk i still really enjoyed the show. i kept thinking "wow… im getting gurren lagann vibes", not just from the visuals but cuz of the emphisis on chasing ur own dream. i had no idea trigger worked on this but it was a good call. dont think ill ever play the game but this show was a cool toe dip into the world of cyberpunk. the journey was wild, story kept me hooked. the end was bittersweet and to the point. i wouldnt complain if we got another season any time soon… cuz i burned thur this show at an alarmingly fast rate.
